Our District Conference 2000

President Robyn Wallace Opens the Quota International 29 th District Conference at the Country Comfort this year. The Conference was organised by Chairperson Shirley Munday and her committee. Shirley was congratulated by SPAD Gloria for her organistion.
The year 200 was a very significant one for Quota International of Port Macquarie. President Robyn Wallace was fortunate to have the club host the District Conference this year. We have had very successful fund raising for our club project, namely the Shade Sails for the children's area at the Women's refuge, donations given to disabled students for special camps, for hearing impaired children, and to the district project,(riding for the disabled)as well this year. The club has enjoyed the special visit of South Pacific Area Director Gloria Cook who was an entertaining speaker at Conference. Her message for 2000 was "Extend the hand of Friendship". The reading machine, donated by the Port Macquarie Quota Club to the Community, which will assist those with poor sight or a lack of adequate reading skills. This machine scans enlarges and reads verbally to the user. It is quite remarkable, and is in constant use.

SPAD Gloria presents Past President Billie Smith with "The Pearls" from Calgary for our International Community Award, for the best club effort for 1999-2000.
