13th April 1999 V90 is now installed at all 56K access points. Testing has indicated that 56Kflex users should not notice any changes. Users with V90 modems should experience faster throughput. If you experience any problems please call your Internet provider or email us at helpdesk@midcoast.com.au. 1st March 1999 Mid North Coast Internet has one phone number operational for testing 56K V.90 code. The new number is operational in Kempsey, to use this number set your dialler to call 02 6562 0050. If you use this number and experience any problems please E-mail helpdesk at helpdesk@midcoast.com.au . 12th February 1999 All of our 56K dialin locations can be converted to V.90. However, when this occurs, users with 56Kflex modems will automatically connect in 33.6K mode. Most quality 56Kflex modems can be upgraded to the V.90 standard. To do this, you will need to download new firmware from the modem manufacturer's web site and install it on your computer. To understand what V.90 is all about, go to http://www.v90.com/ Whilst we are carrying out the V.90 tests, users should check if their 56Kflex modem is upgradeable to the V.90 standard. This can be done by finding out the brand and model of your modem and then going to the manufacturer's web site to check its suitability.
