At Midcoast Internet we currently offer three broadband options.
- ADSL ( Australia Wide )
- Wireless G3 Broadband ( Australia Wide )
ADSL offers fast download speeds with a slower( still fast ) upload. Five variants are available – 256k/64K; 512k/128k;
1500k/256k; 8Mbps and ADSL+2.
The Business Class product provides direct access to the Telstra Internet backbone and uses fixed IP addresses, ideal for
servers and VPN use.
The Budget ADSL Broadband is only available in NSW and has been designed for Small Business/Home Office and
Home use. It has generous data allowances to suit all users.
Client sites have to be within 3.5kms of an ADSL
enabled exchange. It is also essential that ADSL connections be protected by a firewall.
Our G3 Wireless Broadband
offers the freedom and convenience to access the internet wherever there is an
available Optus 3G/Dual Band mobile network. Simply plug the wireless modem into
your laptop or PC and connect using the software supplied no phone line needed. This is an excellent choice for customers away from the main centres that do not have access to
ADSL or wireless.

Budget ADSL Plans
Midcoast Internets Economy plans are ideal for the larger users that
want the security of a capped monthly fee so they know they will not run
up large excess data fees.
Once the data allowance or maximum monthly charge is
reached plans maybe slowed to 64kbps for the remainder of the billing
period. All accounts include a static IP address and all
uploaded data is free of charge.

G3 Wireless Broadband
Midcoast G3 Wireless Broadband
G3 Wireless Broadband offers the freedom and convenience to access the internet wherever there is an available

Simply plug the wireless modem into your laptop or PC and connect using the software supplied no phone line needed.
* Data usage will include both uploads and downloads.
Actual speeds will vary and may be slower. Many factors affect speeds such as your distance from the mobile tower, the capacity and load of the mobile tower,
which bearer you are currently using (GSM, 3G/Dual Band), your hardware and software, the source of your download, and general internet traffic.
The service is subject to network availability.
Midcoast Wireless
The Midcoast Wireless wide area network has been developed
with the business customer in mind. It is a high speed, high quality, high download
product that is based on 900Mhz Radio Technology from Waverider Inc. It provides speeds of up
to 1,000kbps in either direction 24 hours a day, and also gives a large data allowance. The
network is protected by a firewall to ensure the best service possible.
Our current Port Macquarie site has been operating since February 2002 and has proved 99.9%
reliable. It has a range of up to four kilometres depending on terrain between the client site
and our antennae in the Port CBD and Industrial areas. This allows us to provide for the
majority of business customers and also many home users. While we do not yet have Wireless
sites in other regional centres, we do plan to provide the service to Taree and Coffs Harbour
in the future.
Our Pricing structures are listed below.
Gold Wireless Connection
The Gold service is the highest priority service giving a speed range of 256k to 512k per
second. Bursts above the maximum speed are possible when network conditions allow. Priorities
only come into play when the network becomes busy. This package allows 10 Gigabytes of data
transfer, or 10,000 MB. You also receive a fixed IP address allowing you to host your own mail
or web server.
Price: $220.00 per month.
Bronze Wireless Connection
The Bronze service is a lower priority service giving a speed range of 0k to 512k per
second. Bursts above the maximum speed are possible when network conditions allow. Priorities
only come into play when the network becomes busy. This package allows 5 Gigabytes of data
transfer, or 5,000 MB. You also receive a fixed IP address allowing you to host your own mail
or web server.
Price: $77.00 per month.
Additional Information
Access to the wireless network is with a Waverider wireless modem and antenna. These
are available to buy for $1,365 or a range of rental options are also available. A six
month rental contract is $50 per month or alternatively a 12 month contract is $40 per
month and an 18 month contract is just $30 per month.
If an external antenna is required, they are available for $450 + installation.
Should you go over the data allowance in any month the additional data will charged at $0.11
per MB.
