The large country town of Taree is approximately 3.5 hours drive north
of Sydney and about 2 hours north of Newcastle. Other major towns are Port Macquarie (45 minutes north) and Forster (30 minutes south). The small historic village of Tinonee is 10 minutes south west

We would like to introduce ourselves to let you know a bit about our background and why we live in Tinonee.
Our names are Brian and Pauline Carney. We are escapees from Sydney and have been in this area since 1989. Apart from working full-time in the area for many years, we both have gained an extensive knowledge of the recreational activities available throughout the region.
Being interested in people and their furry friends inspired us to share our beautiful part of the world by hosting guests on our property. Honey is our pet Foxie and she loves having four legged friends come to visit.
Well-behaved pooches now have their own home away from home.
Deans Creek Lodge is set on 10 acres of farmland, which attracts a wide variety of birds and wildlife. We have well established gardens with many varieties of mature, shady trees and large areas of lawn. There are also areas of dense growth which creates a natural environment for native species to live and breed. The gardens attract many native birds (127 species at last count).
We have a few head of cattle to keep the grass down and they occasionally have calves which always delight our visitors.
Kingfisher Cottage is fully self-contained and has reverse cycle air conditioning. All linen and crockery are provided and there is a gas BBQ for outdoor cooking. We provide a self cater, continental style breakfast for those overnight stays.
Kingfisher Cottage tariff starts at $120.00 per couple per night.
